With a lush blend of romance and groove, jazzy sensibilities and classic soul influences ringing throughout, äj takes a few exotic twists in the form of playful, percussive samba in “Here, I AM”. “Thunder Boy” is an island/calypso flavored tongue in cheek ode to the Rohlehr’s toddler son drawing upon James’mixed Guyanan and Trinidadian heritage.

James recently performed in the stage band for a tribute to Maya Angelu where he played and sang backgrounds for Ashford and Simpson, Cissy Houston, Nancy Wilson, and Gloria Lynn.
